The Departments of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Pathology at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, are continuing an expansion. Highly qualified individuals will be considered at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels. The departments have significant strengths in cancer biology, cell signaling, structural biology and drug screening, translational biology, and imaging, and a highly successful graduate training program. The expansion will include positions in solid tumor biology for several cancers. However, we are particularly interested in investigators utilizing biochemical, cellular, animal and omics approaches to understand protein and cell function.
Successful candidates are expected to establish and maintain an active/funded research program, and participate in departmental teaching and service opportunities. The Medical School and Department are highly ranked with respect to NIH funding. The Departments provide excellent laboratory facilities, competitive salaries and startup packages, and access to numerous core facilities. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or M.D., have substantial research experience, and a strong desire to participate in an interactive, multidisciplinary research environment. Federal research funding is a requirement. Interested applicants are invited to submit by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) a letter of interest, research summary and curriculum vitae.
