Civil Engineer - Site Development and Facilities
Mid-level industry position
Jacobs Toronto office is looking for a Civil Engineer interested to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. You will have the chance to work on infrastructure projects, water treatment plant, pump station site, civil/site development for commercial/ residential projects and public works.
As the Civil Engineer you will also have the chance to act as one of the company's contacts with clients and be responsible for supporting overall work progress and technical performance on the projects. Working with other members of our team, you'll work closely with business group project delivery leadership or other senior project manager/operations leaders who provide oversight and mentoring.
Provides lead direction for site/civil development, take overall responsibility for the civil engineering work such as grading, site roads, yard piping and underground services.
Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates civil engineering work.
Supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with client and other design disciplines.
Serves as a liaison between clients, agencies and design teams.
Prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
Leads, coordinates and reviews the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer
At least 10 years' experience of site, grading, paving, drainage projects
Civil engineering knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem-solving skills
GTA Site / Civil experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with City codes, regulations and permitting process
